Mesa Concrete Paver Installation

Concrete pavers are one of the most versatile staples in Mesa landscape design. Mesa concrete paver installation can add a whole new look and feel to most any outdoor space. Pavers can update an old concrete or cool deck hardscape by adding texture, depth, color and warmth. Pavers can be used to create visual interest with curved walkways, circular inlays, steps, pathways, driveways and patios.

Pavers – The Good and The Bad

Mesa concrete paver installation is a valuable investment for any home. It should be a maintenance free addition that should bring enjoyment, beauty, and usability for many many years. But, if installed incorrectly, they can be a nightmare!

Unfortunately, with lax contractor regulations and the increase in unlicensed contractors in the Mesa market, the workmanship and quality of Mesa concrete paver installation has suffered, and pavers have been given a bad wrap. Many of these “landscaping contractors” get their jobs by selling on price alone. While price is obviously a factor in considering any landscaping bid, it can also be a testament to the job quality and workmanship itself. I have seen many Mesa concrete paver installation bids for $4/ sq foot. At this price, it is inevitable that the contractor is going to cut some corners on the install.

A cheap Mesa concrete paver installation may look good for a day, or even a few months, but it will most certainly not stand the test of time. Good news though- it does not have to be this way! At AZ Landscape Creations, we stand behind our concrete paver installs with a 2 year warranty!

Mesa Concrete Paver Installation – The Key To Success

Mesa concrete paver installation is an art, but also a science. They key to any successful installation begins with establishing a proper base or foundation. In general, concrete pavers must be laid on an excavated compacted surface. Depending upon the use and durability needed, the surface must be excavated a minimum of 4 inches. If the pavers need to sustain more weight, like for a driveway, the surface could need up to 10 inches of excavation. In addition, the base must also contain AB and sand. The amount will vary, like the excavation does, depending on the durability needed. The base must be compacted, tamped and leveled. The pavers should also be laid at a slight slope, in order to account for drainage. If laying pavers on a slope, or anything other than a flat surface, additional measures have to be taken. The calculations and measurements can get pretty complicated, but it is so important for all these variables to be considered.
